Any recommendations on wholesale jewelers? I am in the market for an engagement ring and would like to avoid getting killed on the markup. thanks.

This was a gift from my boss. I kept it for a few months before I just sold it. It is pretty solid. Made in USA. You can't beat the quality. If I needed a sterling silver money clip I would buy a...

I just picked this up and I am pretty pleased. Just what I expected. I am pleased with the Bark. However, I wish it was a little darker. A great deal for $35. Comparable to other belts in the...

I found Knox Jewelers out of Minnesota browsing a gemstone message board when I was searching for the wife's ring. They have a b&m store there, but do lots of online sales, as well. The staff was very prompt and courteous. Prices were comparable to the other stuff I found from the bigger online sites, but I liked it being an actual, small shop. http://www.knoxjewelers.biz

When I bought an engagement ring nine years ago, I used ashford.com for the stone, then had the baguettes and ring itself done in the diamond district on 47th St. Worked brilliantly. You'll save a significant amount of money that way vs. going retail for the same stone and setting.
Also, FWIW, I grew up in MN and can vouch that Knox Jewelers is a legit enterprise long-established in the area. Never shopped there, but I know they've been around.
Good luck!

www.pricescope.com is a very good resource for finding and comparing stones. Also has a lot of educational material.
I ended up buying my wife's engagement ring from Whiteflash, got a very nice stone for less money than a B&M would have charged. They were quite helpful, I'd recommend them.
