Aren't golf umbrellas very large?

Never been an umbrella guy. I love turning up my coat collar and trudging through. Makes me feel like James Dean.

Yes, the diameter is quite large, as I mentioned in my post on the other thread. But there are distinct advantages in this:

1) From an alpha male standpoint, you own the sidewalk.

2) The size really keeps the rain away from your clothing.

3) You can shield a walking companion with delightful ease.

I'm not sure I read that as a good thing. I seldom look at someone forcing me off the sidewalk as the "leader" rather than the jerk.

Well, I was being just ever so slightly facetious there...

It's a darn nice umbrella in any case.

Fair enough TB (damn lack of tone in text). But man that really get's my goat. The kids on campus here do it. So does the entire physical plant/maintenance crew. As if my $300 shoes are supposed to go in the dirt.

But does this umbrella have a big ass Nike logo on it? My guess would probably be yes, in which case for most people on this forum it would disqualify it for any use outside of, well, a golf course.

Me neither Edward, however I do like a nice wooden handle umbrella, I allways loose them.... allways left it forgotten in a restaurant or shop...

So I have nice rain proof trench coats and matching rain hats... the sort you can fold and put inside the coat's pocket when not in use....

On mine, there's a very small identifying swoosh and Nike name -- hardly noticeable. Most recent models I've seen do have a bigger logo, and, I agree, are less desirable for it.
