I don't think so. Mine is almost a year old.

We just got 2 new TVs in the past few months.

A 60" LED-LCD by Sony (Living Room)

and

A 40" Sony Google TV (Den)

The LED-LCD is the way to go. It's a great TV and doesn't give off crazy amount of heat like plasmas do. Really energy efficient, great picture.

We got the Google TV since my girlfriend works at Best Buy and we got a great deal. The TV itself is fine but the Google functionality isn't as great as it should be. It's pretty slow. And if I want internet, I'll pickup my laptop or phone and it'd be faster. It's nice to have the streaming of Netflix right through the TV but it seems to have to catch up with itself at times. PS3 works better for that.

In short, Get the LED LCD, skip the 3D. If you want to save a few bucks, get the LCD over the plasma. I think 3DTV is a fad and don't think people want to wear special glasses to watch tv (not to mention spend the money on multiple pairs).

What model was the 60" Sony? NX810 or EX500?
