I completely agree that counterfeiting is not funny. Your phrasing is what delighted me and added to my sheer incredulity at the existence of couterfeiters faking second- or third-rate merchandise -- slithering the extra distance to find the rankest slime in the bottom of the barrel. It's bad enough that some of the original stuff is made in the first place. Either way, people end up not getting their money's worth.

I think i will devote the rest of my life to tracking down people who counterfeit 2nd rate brands. Perhaps since you see eye to eye with me you will join me in my quest. We can establish a hall of justice or even a round table to stamp out this plague on humanity?

So far, the fora would seem to be our best weapon in the fight. The better informed people are, the smaller the market for their crap will become. The best way to trample them underfoot is to make their business unprofitable.

By the way, where would counterfeiters move their unsold inventory?

Oh sure, you could counterfeit the label of the Trump collection, but you could never equal the craftsmanship and inherent style within each piece.

I once thought that I ended up with a fake T&A; I had paid nearly $300 for a shirt of ordinary poplin, double-needle machine stitiching, and poorly executed turnback cuffs . . . amazing how someone was apparently able to sneak into the T&A store that I bought it from and substitute this inferior item!

No Nantucket, we need to take more drastic measures. I suggest we disguise ourselves and go to the lair of the counterfeiters. We can then build this enormous wooden rabbit...
