I bought some Cantonese roast duck here in HK and I think that's the ONLY way to eat it! I could never eat it in a restaurant.... I look like a fucking caveman devouring it which makes it all that more enjoyable!

btw... I believe there's a goumet hot dog joint in Chicago that makes fresh-cut french fries, deep fried in only.... yes, u guessed it..... delicious, duck fat!

Duck unlike chicken, can run without their heads for seconds. If that's not a miracle I don't know what is.

I find it odd that people say "gamey" as if that is a bad thing. More gamey = more flavor = more delicious.

The spinal cord coordinates motor function and can keep doing so for a short while in small animals, even in the absence of a brain. It's basically made of the same cells and components as the brain, anyhow. Some animals have no brains or spines at all -- at least as we would think of them -- but have distributed neural networks across their bodies, which are sort of like proto-spines.

It is entirely conceivable that evolution could have led down a different path in which centralized brains never emerged. Think of the Current Events forum, for example.

'Tis an amazing fowl. We had duck and cornish hen for Thanksgiving today rather than turkey.

Our family makes duck for holiday meals instead of turkey. Had enough duck to last me until Christmas last night!

Years ago we chopped a chickens head off to test the old wives tale. Damn thing ran all over the place spurting blood out the top of its headless neck and causing us to scatter. Didnt really run in any one direction for too long (20-25 feet) but was ambulatory for a good 20 seconds (30 seconds if you count the macabre breakdancing routine it did at the end before it expired - but you cant really count that as "running").
