Best, cheap cities in Europe to visit???

I'd like to visit a friend over in Europe without breaking the bank. 7 days total, so it could very well be all in one spot.

Any recommendations? I've heard the Euro travels relatively far in Berlin. That could be nice.

I remember Prague and Budapest being very affordable. Both great cities with lots to do.

Not having been, but merely researched, I'd say stick to the east. Moscow is the most expensive city in europe, but only to rent and buy imported products. Otherwise it's dirt cheap.

moscow is not in europe. it is in the russian federation.

berlin wont be cheap.

for eastern european countries, dollars travel farthest in the baltics, hungary, romania and bulgaria; or south-eastern ones (croatia, bosnia, serbia and montenegro).

Part of Russia is in Europe and part is in Asia. Moscow is in the Asian part but you can still use Euro. Yes, Eastern Europe, eg Prague, Budapest, Kiev, etc are less expensive. Lots of history, culture, architecture - and stunningly beautiful and down-to-earth women.

U need to visit a European city with very little ethnic European. Malmo, Paris, or Prague seem like good choices.

Paris is Paris but Prague is the pearl of Eastern Europe IMO. Its the most beautiful city I've visited.

I think most Americans can only name like 3 European cities so cities like Paris and London always get recommended even though they suck.

If you are doing Croatia you may as well wait until it gets warm. It is essentially a coastal destination. Also, it is not nearly as cheap as it was a decade ago.
