The problem with the R is that it's far behind, technologically, other DSLRs in terms of field shooting, and for studio or even certain outdoor work, the price puts it in competition with medium format cameras that deliver superior results.

Completely agree.

Maybe if it was a 500 buck fondler they could manufacture a market for it. I dont know that there is a particularly big market for a circa 6k fondlemachine.

Yeah, the non-auto-zoom lenses really kill the R.
