Hmm this is the first thing I read about them on google: "These wonderful cinnamon-sugar cookies became very popular with my friends at church. My pastor loves them!"

Sounds dangerously Protestant. Lutheran, even. Will pass.

Two.

1) A chewy chocolate chip cookie and
2) A gourmet/different cookie so not just a peanut butter/sugar/oatmeal raisin

I'm telling you, man. Snickerdoodles for the win! I made a batch Friday and they surely led to a RubeRutting™ that began about 11 p.m. that night, continuing on 'til 5 Saturday morning.

WTF is a rutting? And POAST A FREAKIN RECIPE!

Also, you'll have to be able to assuage my other fears about these--things.

Snickerdoodles Makes 4 dozen cookies 1 1/2 cups sugar 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened 1/2 cup shortening 2 eggs 2 3/4 cups Gold Medal® all-purpose or unbleached flour 2 teaspoons cream of tartar 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 cup sugar 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1. Heat oven to 400ºF. 2. Mix 1 1/2 cups sugar, the butter, shortening and eggs in large bowl. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. 3. Shape dough into 1 1/4-inch balls. Mix 1/4 cup sugar and the cinnamon. Roll balls in cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. 4. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Some add a little vanilla to the recipe. Some refrigerate the dough for an hour or so before shaping into balls for easier handling. edit: you really don't know what "rutting" is?

The best cookie in NY these days is made with cornflakes, pretzels, chocolate chips, taco chips - whatever you can throw in.

"Major" is relative.

I've baked a lot of cookies. For me the one thing that made my cookies much better wasn't a new recipe but a tip I received from my foodie friend: leave the batter in the fridge for 48 hours before baking. The texture of the cookies will be much, much better, with a crisp outside and moist inside.
