Why so quiet with SS14 drops at online retailers?  Other than END I have not seen much Cabourn product.  I can't even seem to find internet pictures of SS14

Kafka, Flannels, Trunk...  Off the top of my head I think that's it from what I've seen.  Very small drops too.  I think AW had a second drop, so SS probably will too.  Still a lot of the same product with pretty much everyone having that Canadian jacket.

Whats really puzzling though is the Cabourn webstore.  Half the AW13 collection is still full price and not a whiff of SS14.  It's March now too.  They can do whatever they want, but I'd think they want to start getting through the rest of AW product and start to get the SS stuff up.

I'm in no hurry for anything new now anyway.  It just snowed, again, today and I just got the last of my AW buys.  A few great deals on AW were out there too.  Flannels had some ridiculous prices, which have now gone back up, and Trunks final marks are always good even though they don't much left.

Speaking of Flannels and Cabourn, this is still available:

Highly recommend this coat if you don't already have it.  Not as warm as a Mallory since the back is canvas, but you can layer it.  Just looks great on though.  Really nice piece.  The green is nice two, but the bottom pockets on the green don't line up.  They do on the navy, but not on the green.

Would prefer it to be all wool. Don't really like the wool/canvas combination.

Anyone know if there are any camermans left in the army & stone colourway in a 50?
I was too slow out of the blocks when the sales started and all the usual places are sold out.

I assume the classic version with the Harris Tweed lower and not the all ventile version with the Harris Tweed vest.  I got the last one from the usual suspects a week ago.  End had two for a while.  After they sold their last one I just got it from Kafka.  I'd been waiting for End to take another drop, but they didn't so I grabbed the last one from Kafka.  I won't be returning mine, but I'd keep checking End.  You never know if it'll get returned.  Last time I checked code ALLGONE was still working at End too.

I'd recommend the navy and indigo colorway.  It's better than it's Mallory cousin in terms of how the colors work together.  Still out there too.  Kafka has one left.  Flannels may get one back in their inventory too, as well as a crazy Cameraman.

Best of luck.  The army and stone is a nice combination and much better than the stone Mallory.  It's not really flashy, but very classic looking.

Cheers for the heads-up. I am sorely tempted by the blue version at Kafka but I aöready have the blue herringbone tweed Mallory with dark blue ventile patches which would be really similar colour-wise to this one, as well as a dark blue Stone Island waterproof.
I do have an M65 style CP jacket in the Army colour but I have nothing in the stone tweed colour, I really like the look of it in the photos.
I think I'll just wait another year, the Ventile/ Harris tweed combo will surely be back in some sort of browny-greeny hue and I'm not in a rush, I already have way too much outerwear...

Am a size 50 in the Mallory, 39/40 inch chest 31/32 inch waist..Will that make me a 50 or a 48 in the Cameraman. looks like its a good time to add one maybe even the Businessman also..

Thanks

After reading through the thread & checking End's measurements it appears as though I should size down one from my Mallory on the Cameraman all though it has the Vest...

Has any one tried on or purchased the Cameraman with the vest and if so how did they find the sizing ?

Thanks..

What do you think?

I haven't really discerned that much of a pattern where they decide to use ventile .. the inside of the breast pocket on the zip sweat is ventile which makes no sense to me at all, am I supposed to keep something wet in there? confused.gif

I have a cameraman with mackintosh and a couple of the aircraft jackets in ventile - the problem with the mackintosh (as others have pointed out here before) is that it offers no protection to the cold at all and if you have a layer or two underneath and then start to sweat it doesn't allow any escape of the moisture. So in my fairly limited experience the ventile is preferable all round.

I purchased the Ventile Cameraman with Vest in 50 and returned it the very next day. It just didn't work for me, the vest was a nice snug fit but the jacket was huge, it was incredibly unflattering, I think the extra size is to accommodate the vest underneath. The strange thing was it also seemed very long but when I later checked the dimensions online it said it was the same length as the Harris Tweed version. Furthermore when it was all fastened up, you could see the bulk of the vest in the chest area, I love the idea of it as I have the Ten C Snow Smock with Shearling Liner which works perfectly but the Cabourn one doesn't. I am extremely tempted by the Aircraft with Det Vest as there are a couple available at decent prices but I fear the same result.

Thanks for the thoughts, will size down to the 48..Although your concerns are causing me to pause. Am US and have returned to UK be for it is still a trial......

Thanks again...

I bought the Cameraman with the vest in a 46. Was way too tight, perfect without the vest though. Exchanged it for a normal Cameraman in a 48. Fits perfect, but as with all Cabourn stuff the sizing is not that consistent through the range. Still my first choice of clothes though, love em.
