I've had tailors alter things but I'm never entirely happy with the results unless it's just something simple like sleeve shortening

If anybody is in the market for a size 46 (XS) yellow Everest/Antarctic Parka - Flannels in Cardiff have one discounted to around £1000. I was in Cardiff on business today and just happened to stop by.
If interested I would ring the store direct as it's not online because of the fur issue

Additional marks at Flannels.  Very good price for a Mallory.  They're going fast though.

I´m looking to buy the Aircraft Jacket with detachable vest and i am having problems choosing the correct size. I am 189cm tall and weigh 87 kg and almost always wear a Large in everything. According to Flannels a 52 correspond to a L but when I look at the measurement on Cabourns webpage it seems really big. The chest measurement is even bigger than my Barbour Beaufort which is very roomy on me.

This has gotten me a bit confused and im thinking of buying the 50.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Ask whoever you are buying the jacket from to measure it for you.

I know the measurement from from Cabourns website and im looking to buy it on Flannels.

I am just not used to going by measurements so i guess what im asking is if anyone has experience with this jacket and if thye maybe went down in size?

the size guides on Flannels website are generic sizing so probably don't apply to the Cabourn sizing.

if it has a detachable lining you need to allow some extra space

I would give the store a call and see if they can advise you.

Don't go buy Flannels' measurements.  Go by Cabourn's or try Superdenim and see if they have it.  I know they have the vest and the vest's measurements, though they may only be on one color's page.

It's a roomy jacket in the chest, but slims down to the waist pretty quickly.  At least past versions have.  That's the cut/look of the coat.

and very short ..

I found it fairly true to size - I'm a true 36" chest and the 46 fits me nicely.

Cabourn store 50% disco ..

it's a funny thing when a brand can cut it's price in half and you still contemplate the purchase.

Well they didn't mark much of note anyway. Still if you can subtract VAT and you like something it's a not bad. Flannels had 10% off sale today though which I found to be as good if not better. They're even ahead of End at the moment.

Run on size 50s this year. Mallorys for sure, but a lot if other styles as well.

OK if you can subtract VAT and they kindly mark as a gift/low value - otherwise you're really no better off.
