Agree on this. I can't imagine wearing a tweed Mallory indoors. The SS variants in jersey or linnen maybe, but are they "real" Mallory jackets?

My girlfriend heartily approves of my freshly unwrapped Crazy Mallory. Thinks it looks very stylish. Score!

And here is a quick snap from field testing today. Not the best of light, and a flurry of snow, but an indication of what it looks like. Note: This is size 52. The army stripes I've previously posted a photo of is size 50. I'm wearing the same thin sweater underneath in both. The 52 feels only very slightly larger, and the arms appear the same length.

Kudos for Norse projects Hestra Staale gloves Nick :)

Looks good Nick, thanks for pic. Is there much difference in shoulder fit between 50 and 52? That's the only tight spot on me in the 50.

I tried a 52 at Barneys - the shoulders seemed identical to the 50 (even End Clothing on line measurements seem to indicate this) however the body is bigger (wider).  I was nervous about getting a 50 however it fits perfectly - the shoulders are the same and now the body is how it should be.

Yes - this jacket is definitely warm enough to be an outerwear piece however I have had no problem wearing it indoors in a restaurant with just a dress shirt underneath.  It really is an amazing piece.  I am not a fan of wool (itchy!) however this Harris Tweed is obviously virgin and the best quality there is.  Soft and delectable.  Done up in the "crazy" combination it definitely is an iconic piece which will remain classic for years to come.  The combinations are done subtly and with class.

Hope that helps

Gregg

Thanks Gregg, then 50 is probably my best option as the body fits great.

Just tried them back to back and to me it feels like the 52 is slightly loser over the shoulders than 50, and also a little loser over the chest (or tummy, to be truthful). The difference is marginal though, so for me either size works.

Thanks Nick, I appreciate it!

I was hoping to get the navy Mallory Vest in 48 - but it seems to be sold out everywhere. Does someone has a source?

EDIT: BTW how is the fit compared to other NC items?

In my experience (I'm wearing a blue herringbone one right at this moment), you want to size one up. Even in 52 I can't comfortably wear mine buttoned up, whereas in a Mallory jacket I can wear both 50 and 52 buttoned up without feeling discomfort.

USHOWU has a navy one in size 50 on sale right now... Also green herringbone in 46 and 48. This does highlight the confusion between what is the actual Mallory waistcoat and the SB Lapel one.

Does anyone have the geddes jacket? Is it wise to size down? There's one on ebay I'm tempted by, but it's 52, I'm 50 in aircraft and 48 in storm parka.

You need to size down in Geddes as discussed earlier. If you are size 50, I'd recommend getting a size 48. I have brand new / never worn Geddes size 48 for sale at the moment, PM me if you are interested.

-edit- if you are size 48/50, Geddes size 52 will be TOTALLY too big on you. You need a 48 Geddes.

Ok, thanks, might be interested! I'll send you a message tomorrow, too tired now:)
