Nigel Cabourn - Page 138

I picked up the small peak lapel jacket in army stripe. The Harris Tweed on the jacket is great.

I am considering giving it the same washing treatment as suggested for the Mallory since it has a similar construction and the same material. I sent an email to
enquiries@nigel-cabourn.co.uk to get their opinion. No reply yet.

Yeah I sent it also. I didn't hear anything back so I just bit the bullet and gave it a 10 min soak. Will report back on what the shrinkage was like.

In a Mallory I was a 50 primarily because of how much the shoulder width drops from a 50 to 48 (no idea is this has changed it's been a few years since I tried one on). PtP I was fine in the 48 but just couldn't work out the shoulders. I'm 6 foot 175 pounds and a 40r.

Thanks, damn only 44 is left. Will sit on the Geddes as I don't NEED another down coat, but may change mind if it starts to drop

Can I get your opinion guys? Which colour do you prefer in the Red Wing x Cabourn Munson Boot?

Thanks! After some deliberation, I thought so too. The lighter colour reminds me of Type M-43 Service boots. Cabourn did an amazing job in choosing the best colours for the boots.

Definitely lighter one. It looks better from the start but also it will age so nicely..

Wow, I know images can appear different from the "real life" colour, but they look totally different colours from what I'd seen online!

I had thought the darker ones were nicer but now.......

Well I have last winters waxed Camerman and it was in a 50 as I wanted to wear a jacket underneath but I had a couple of inches taken out of the body, my skyliner is in 48 and my Mallory is in a 50. I always change the size depending of what I will be wearing it with and don't worry about giving your Cabourn to a good tailor as it is easy to alter to fit just right.

They came back:
Hi

Many thanks for the email.

I wash my jacket in the washing machine, 29 mins on 30 degrees C.

It looks amazing but will shrink one full size if you do it in the machine.

Otherwise wash it in the bath with the show on it.

I hang mine dry on a coat hanger.

I guess it will effect the fibers but that's how you get the rugged look and fit.

Good luck

Best wishes

Drew

Im still waiting for my jacket to dry. But it has shrunk more in the length. Sleeves and body seem perfect now. WIde in the chest I think is okay, little over 20 inch, before soak it was little over 21 inch. Will have to try it on with a shirt and sweater to see how it feels. Wool feels fine

At first I was also most interested in the bright model, but when I saw them in the store, I ended up buying the brown model and I'm happy with the choice today cool.gif

Does anyone know what the two buttons on the right inside of the Mallory Jacket are for?

I can't figure it out.

To attach the throat latch if you don't want to use it

Speaking of Mallory according to EndClothing, the shoulder pads are ventile cotton:

Never knew this. Want to see it beads on my mallory

Please they came back and interesting to see how Drew has been using a machine with his jacket - I am not sure I am brave enough to do that.
