Nigel Cabourn - Page 103

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I have some Nigel Cabourn vests/waistcoats for sale.  I can't sell here just yet because I've only been a member for about 30 days, but I have great eBay feedback as a buyer and seller and I can put them on eBay or you can PM me.  The vests/waistcoats are all size 52.  One is a Harris Tweed with that Harris Tweed Anniversary logo while the other two are the Hospital Vest (?) in wool or wool herringbone.  I can send pics too.  Nice pieces and all will be in and around 70% off.  PM me if you're interested.

Indeed, looks great.

I think that ventile seam on the outer seam on the coats looks bad. I'm guessing it was somewhat unnecessary too.

Yeah, I was looking at the pics from phone before.  I just think the seam detail on the color-way is a bit much.  Too sporty maybe.  I get that sport is part of the collection too.

I'm a bit worried about the ventile fabric itself too.  Like it'll be too lightweight and not structured enough.  Of course I'll have to wait and see when the stockists get their pics up.  Just too bad as I really like the color-ways on the Cameramen.

Like that denim/chambray looking Tenzing, though I think it's Mainline and not Authentic.

Really. I like the outer seam. Think I'm the only one that does...

Quick post to answer some questions I've had on PM's, I'll post more pics and comments later. Size 50, measures exactly 20.5" pit to pit, if you're a size 40 chest it's going to be tight...

For me it's right on the border, fits great now with a thin shirt or T but if I put on any weight at all it ain't gonna fit. I had the same problem with my last Tenzing, sent back the 50, ordered a 52 but found that too big so settled on 50 after all.

Great jacket, fabric is thinner than I expected, and a far lighter, washed out shade to the camo print than pics online show.

Actually I think I'm in the minority here.  smile.gif

Hrmmm was never aware of that swirly (lines) on the right shoulder of the jacket. Going to go check it out at local store. Want to see how thick / thin it is.

Looks like it's just the camo pattern - it would be at different places on different jackets

A few different shots showing details I haven't seen on the web shots. To answer irbe's question, it's a very thin material, a summer jacket certainly. It looks like camo will still be everywhere next summer, so should get a good few years out of it...

I doubt I'll pick anything up from A/W 12/13, it'a an amazing project and collection but nothing I'd wear, rather save my cash for Cabourn/Bauer round 2. I'll do everything I can to track down a copy of the book though, with 2,000 copies apparently printed one's bound to pop up on ebay sooner or later. The same craftsmanship that goes into the clothes has gone into this by the look of it.

It would be great to find a copy of the book, for sure. I have had a saved search on Ebay for the Ascent of Cabourn, and a copy has never popped up in the past couple years...
