Good reductions. If I hadn't just had to order a new briefcase that aircraft jacket would have been very tempting... Thanks for the heads up anyway.

As promised last weed, my very own transformed (-8cm of total length and on the sleeves) Cameraman Jacket, it's very hot in Paris today but I tried the Tweed on Tweed anyway... Sweaty but smoking hot, a bit too hot to wear a winter long sleeved shirt and Tweed tie though!

Harris Tweed on Donegal Tweed... Perfect!

and I am glad with the result, I'm really hoping for a return of fowl and icy weather for a few weeks just to let me enjoy it right now.

^ I don't like this alteration at all, makes it look boxy, but it's your jacket so as long as you're happy... I was going through Onozato's book this morning and saw a picture of the RRL tweed mountain parka (seen here in a copy of F&E). Dramatic similarities with the Cameraman. Which came first?

Thanks for the link, zissou. Great stuff.

Also their model is like 9 feet tall

Cabourn released the jacket first. If I'm not mistaken RRL did that version as part of their FW09 Summit themed collection

The Everest based pieces Cabourn did were done in the early 2000, 03 maybe? Haven't been to NH recently but anyone into Cabourn should stop by Rosey Jekes near Dartmouth. Kenny, the owner, helped design that line and may still have some of the original/earlier releases of the jacket.

More of AW11 from End. I like the other colors of the Everest parka, but I think the Eddie Bauer parkas have my eye...

Hi there,

I am now looking at the Aircraft jacket, but I can't decide on the size to get (will order online, so I'd like to make sure to get the right size).

I am 6.0 (184cm), slender built (75Kg), and would like a fit like on the picture attached (courtesy of Inventory Magazine). Usually, I am between M and L, but if this jacket fits large, L would be too big for me. On the other hand, if it fits small-ish, M would be too small...sorry if I sound obvious, but it's always a hassle to be between two sizes.

When I look at the measurements given at Oi Polloi, both the M (50) and the L (52) seem to be quite roomy - the M at 24" pit to pit, the L even at 25" pit to pit.

As I never owned a Nigel Cabourn jacket before, I have no reference for his sizing. I'd appreciate any help you could give me.

Thanks!

I've no experience with the Aircraft jacket, but I've got the Cameraman in a 52 and it's just right over a sweater for my 42" chest. I would say his stuff is generally pretty true to size.

Hi,
I am 6', 170lb. I often like size 52 in Cabourn shirts and some blazer type jacktes, but I went with a 50 in the aircraft jacket. It is plenty big. I would not want a 52 in this piece given the broader pit-to-pit measurement.

Anybody give some insight into the jacket? How beefy is the material? Does it feel like babour wax jackets? First time looking into the brand, I am a medium in BoO, small in EG shirts / Gitman. What size would I be for NC? Thanks in advance.

Hi guys,
Also looking to buy the Aircraft jacket from endclothing. Up to now always took a size 50 in Cabourn jackets but not sure with this one. All sites say 50 is a M but pit to pit seems very large to me. Has anyone who is a 50 in the cameraman bought one and if so in what size? what is the fit like. The model on tresbien is wearing a 50 in the aircraft and a 50 in the cameraman as well so I am leaning towards a 50.
Thanks
