MSAINT- make sure you try it on with a thick sweater, too, especially when you go to have it altered. Don't want it to wind up too small!

And, I recommend you have the sleeves tailored longer than a typical suit jacket. It's nice to have the top part of your hand protected in wet weather. Be sure to post photos... And just be yourself and use the emoticons

Zissou, first tryout were with half hand covered, so no problem with thick clothes on next fall, jacket should be ready after a second tryout May 8th... I'll try to take some pics but it's not as easy as taking pictures of my boots for the Tricker's or streatwear/boots thread!

After some tryouts it should look something like that: (sort of more of a jacket less of a parka alteration

I had the same thought after picking up my camerman. However, I would caution against doing this to quickly. I held off and am glad I did; I realized that the jacket length was perfect, it was just longer than I was use to. Once I wore it a bit I got adjusted to the overall length of the jacket and now love it.

Well, looks like the chinos that I received from the Cabourn sample sale are the wrong model

If you're going to shorten it, I'd leave at least an inch below the pockets or it's going to look very odd.

Not as good/interesting I take it?

The double bank holiday messed up delivery of the waistcoat. Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow...

There will be 3cm (1.2") left below the pockets, same length as in my other "classic" jackets

They still look nice, but just not what I was wanted. It looks like the inseam will be too short on me as well...

I wanted the British Officer chino with the double belt loops and small pocket on one thigh. Instead, I got a rather plain pair of wide leg chinos. I may put them up for sale here, but I will return them if return shipping is paid for.

The mistake was theirs so they should pay for the return shipping!

Good luck with that - I have had several difficult dealings with Superdenim.

Actually, they just emailed me today saying they'd take care of it. I've had nothing but great experiences with Lewis
