Appropriate response to an insinuation that you are Camp?

Thread Starter
I have a senior manager who sits behind me and I have noticed he has noticed that I dress relatively well (proper fitting shirts, round toe shoes that are polished, matching ties, suits and etc). He too tries sometimes to be ‘differently’ dressed with his pink shirts and white collar and cuffs and he does have the odd decent tie.

Because of my ‘consistent’ and ‘well fitted’ dress sense and because he thinks I should have shagged my fit colleague (female) who sits next to me, I am sure he thinks I am ‘camp’ (Camp means closet ghey) and has on occasion made insinuations to that effect.

I find this amusing as I am far from ‘Camp’. Short of knocking his ‘teeth out’ and ending my career then and there, is there an appropriate response or comeback I can use in a corporate environment to put the f…ker in his place next time he insinuates or opens his mouth?

I should also note that it seems he is threatened by my physique as I do train, run, swim and I provide some eye candy to my female colleagues each time I strip down to a singlet for a lunchtime swim or run.

I have nothing personal against him other than his insinuations.

I'd be interested to know exactly how your manager made these insinuations.

Tell him to take out his penor....When he sees that you don't dive for it, he will know that you are not "camp."

Tell him he's not your type and to please stop hitting on you.

Admit it. It's OK.

Camp is just ironically bad. This thread screams closet homo like blood running down the walls. Did I walk in on a running gag? A performance piece?

Watch straight porn in the office and let the top of Club magazine stick out of the back pocket of your briefcase nonchalantly...

Let him believe you're gay, then fuck his wife.

Personally, I'm assumed to be gay nearly every day, nearly everywhere I go. It doesn't bother me. For 90% of the population, "gay" is a sort of shorthand for being well-dressed and well-mannered.

It doesn't matter that I'm a gun owner who can change the head gasket on their car. All they see is my polished shoes and lavender bespoke shirt. To them I'm gay-gay-Gay McGayster.

Embrace it, and let him go around in his pleated chinos and Ed Hardy tee and wonder why his wife or girlfriend finds the gay dude so very interesting.

If you live somewhere particularly litigious, perhaps a profitable lawsuit? Of course this depends on the pros and cons of monetary gain less the impact on your career.

Otherwise I'd re-double your efforts on career progression, so in a couple of years you are superior to him in some other company.

Then have sex with his wife.
