Shatnez

To any Jewish folk who know about Shatnez, do you follow the guidelines and have linen canvas removed from a nice jacket by Oxxford, Kiton, etc?  If you choose MTM can you request that no linen be used in the construction of the garment?  It seems that there are exceptions to the rule, though, listed below.
Quote:
When we speak of wool, we are only referring to wool obtained from sheep or lambs. Other materials, such as camel's hair, mohair, angora, cashmere or alpaca wool, present no shatnez problems. Similarly, linen refers only to fibers derived from the flax plant, whereas other bast fibers, such as ramie, hemp or jute, may be combined with wool.

At this point all better tailors are aware of Shatnez. This is no problem on a MTM garment. Just make sure it is mentioned at the time of order and the proper canvas and under-collar canvas will be used. If you are interested, I have been making a shell for Tzitzis (prayer shawl that is worn under your shirt) Out of high count cotton for several customers for many years nows.
