Do I have a short or regular or long torso?

I was planning to order some dress shirts online and there was a section to select your torso length. So I'm 73 inches tall and my hip bone is around 41 inches off the ground. Which option do I choose? How do I tell?

And what is the proper torso length for a male?

Here is a dumby-chart that should work for most body types. However, assuming you don't have a freakishly long neck or big head, and going by anthropometric ratios (assuming a 50 percentile range) you should be a regular torso, as your stature/hip height ratio is a bit lower than the "average" for your size (which normally would place you in the long category). Of course, with all tailoring, compare your measurements (and get those if you don't have them) to the measurements listed for the garment in that particular size.
