Advise on Persol Frames?

Hi All,

I could use some advce. I'm planning on buying a pair of Persol 2953's, but I'm having an awful time deciding on the frame color.

I'm adverse to going with a straight black, as I wanted a bit more character. On their own, the tortoise shell is very nice, but I'm concerned with its versatility. My other idea is to go with the dark burgundy ones, but I wonder if they're effeminate? (The Persol site shows them under pretty neutral lighting, but in bright daylight I wonder if they'd be brighter).

Thoughts?

I have tortoise for my Persol glasses frames. Had straight black, but it's a little played-out IMHO. $.02 worth.
