I think I hate San Francisco. - Page 101

Also fished Hot Creek and the Lower Owens for wild browns. And stopped in at the Lone Pine cowboy film museum.

We stayed at the Arcularius Ranch (next to Alpers) on the Owens a couple of times. Fun fishing!

Nice. I was just beside the HC Ranch for a few hours. Crazy beautiful place to fish. Definitely going back.

gorgeous! i think the lower owens may be all that you can fish anymore - i know arcuarius was sold to a guy in viginia, and i heard that the alpers sold out to the same guy a couple fo years ago :-(

hot creek stiil dry fly/no wade?

We cant have either. The Netherlands is condemned by its location to eternal "meh" type weather. No real summers, no real winters, an overdose of rain and too many cloudy days.. I love snow, especially the type you get in the alps, but we only get the slush type. The same with sunny days, its either way too much, or not quite enough.

Or maybe I'm typically dutch, and need to complain about everything...

HC Ranch is dry only. Off the ranch is nymphs, dries - as long as it's single artficlal barbless.  Even on the LO while there was a big mayfly hatch no fish were rising.

 

There are no laws against wading, but most are against it as it is such a small creek. I did wade to cross then stuck to the bank.

 

Are you fishing in the tristate area?
