Yes, the OP should have stayed in NY. Stupid OP.

But tonight the OP is at the ahwahnee. And he would never have found that unless he suffered SanFo for a year. Add Yosemite to things to be missed.

Yeah, it's a shame there's a big overpriced hotel in the middle of it, but Yosemite is one of the best places in Earth.

Kidding aside, I hope it is. SanFo is a big girl. She can take it..

Climbed to the top of half dome today. 8 miles up, 8 miles down. 10 hours. Fuck me, I'm nackered.

The spring, once the snow melts, is an amazing time to be in Yosemite. There are waterfalls everywhere.

Remember not to go skinny dipping upstream from the waterfalls, though.

I envy kids who grow up in CA, with their memories of family vacations to Yosemite and all.

BTW Kings Canyon is a great alternative to Yosemite in the summer - it gets busy, but not insanely so, and while it doesn't have the BAM! impact of Yosemite Valley, it's still quite remarkable.

My senior trip was to Yosemite right after the thaw. It was amazing, although I ate really strong pot cookies at the beginning of the bus trip and almost threw up on a teacher when we were going through the Grapevine.
I still remember those awful switchbacks on the way up to Yosemite Falls.
