since SF is a great setting for a movie, naturally they are going to put in pretty hollywood actresses as main characters.

i guess it may have started with Kim Novak in Vertigo? - ironically her character a pretty blonde ends up not actually being pretty in the end (spoiler!).

others portrayed as natives in SF movie settings: Anne Hathaway (Princess diaries), Jennifer Lopez (the wedding planner).... take note... both are native new yorkers who's beauty archetypes are quite common amongst the crowds (curvy Puerto rican beauty and anglo/plain statuesque preppy pretty girls are a dime a dozen in the city)

C'mon, Matt, you DO call them out on that shit when they say such things, right? Nowhere in this thread has the true abomination of San Francisco been mentioned. The shmen are fine, and as lefty mentioned, they are often more attractive than the women. The terrible subculture is the growing population of men who look like women who look like men.

Dude Looks Like a Lady?

 

So we're at a friend's place for Canadian Thanksgiving today and he talks us into going to the Castro Street Fair. Walk the streets for a bit and end up at the bar affectionately known as the "glass coffin" for its aging clientele. The leftette and I are talking with a couple of lovely young lesbians when all of a sudden a 300 lb Samoan woman pushes her way through the crowd toward me and grabs my shirt collar. At first I think she says, "I want to fuck you" and I was about to let her down gently, but I quickly realize that in fact she is saying "you look like my father, fuck you" as she cocks her fist back.  Lesbian 1 throws herself between us as Lesbian 2 reaches behind and grabs the woman's cocked arm. The leftette enlists the help of a few nearby fellows and they (along with the bouncer) toss the Samoan out.

 

Like to throw out an official "thank you" to the LGBTs of SanFo for saving my ass tonight.

And yes, I do call out the SF beach lovers. Lefty has actually been an inspiration for me. i am more outwardly annoyed with people here now, which gives me a lovely sense of inner calm.
