What amazes me though is how ugly the gays are here. I had lunch in The Castro today and I don't think I've ever seen a more motley collection of man flesh in my life. One would think that the US ground zero of gay could muster up something a little better.

I am frequently in LA, and the main difference I see is the level of body tone. The cult of the body is certainly a lot stronger there than here. But the ratio of beautiful faces to go with those beautiful bodies seems about the same as in SF.
My wife and I looked for attractive women today. We found none. We did find one nice pair of tits, though.
Everyone thinks they have good taste. Maybe my standards are low. Who knows? I guess it also depends on where you live in LA.

^the gheys are a super positive natural resource for both SF/NYC, as to who has the more aesthetically pleasing gheys.... the argument is moot if you are heterosexual.
I'd rather argue about who has the better hipsters.
being in Williamsburg/Greenpoint/East Williamsburg/Bushwick a lot i've noticed that NYC hipsters get an undeservedly bad reputation. Most of them merely look and act like hipsters, but they do have actual jobs (to which they will ride bikes/skateboard to). Lets say if you go to McCarren Park at 11am on a weekday afternoon.... it'll be empty because most of the people are working.
I've been to Dolores Park on a weekday at 11am..... let just say it was packed.... full of annoying hipsters.

If you're comfortable enough to fawn over another man's clothes you should be comfortable enough to appreciate another man's good looks.
Dolores Park is representative of SanFo as a whole. It's a great looking park in a good and convenient area. It's downfall are the people who populate it.

Nowhere in this thread has the true abomination of San Francisco been mentioned. The shmen are fine, and as lefty mentioned, they are often more attractive than the women. The terrible subculture is the growing population of men who look like women who look like men.
