I don't think it will happen, but it would be viciously ironic if SF has somehow gotten under your skin just enough to take some of the joy out of NYC for you.

I haven't read through all this thread but I just got back from SF today. I was born and raised in LA and live here currently. I went to college in Norcal and I've been to SF many times during my college years. I always disliked northern California compared to southern California. The weather sucks (cloudy 75% of the year), the women aren't good-looking, and the main attractions just aren't that fun for me.

 

With that said, I haven't been back in 7 years until this weekend. I had the opportunity to get a free flight to SF so I thought I would give the city another chance. I did most of the touristy things this weekend:

 

Ferry Building

Chinatown

Fisherman's Wharf

Golden Gate Bridge

Golden Gate Park

Union Square

 

And just as before, the city just disappointed me. I didn't have much fun even though I went in wanting a good time. I enjoy Chicago, NY, and other US cities. SF ranks near the bottom of my list.

kosmic, with lefty leaving perhaps you can replace him? The City and this thread will need a man with your perspective to carry on.

Dude, I can sympathize with anybody who hates San Francisco. it sucks. The people are horrible. Still, you basically went to Euro Disney, so what do you expect?

I will say that Golden Gate Park was the highlight of my trip. I could see myself going there often if I lived in SF. :)

Vicious irony would be me falling in love with a bull dyke sous chef in the mission, changing my sex and name to lefticia, staying to raise three cats with her in Noe Valley and never leaving. Like Klinger in MASH.
