Don't trip my man. 3.75 GPA, BA in History from UCLA, and unemployed since July. Just keep your fingers crossed.

If you ask around, I think there may be opportunities if you are willing to cross into Mexico a few times a week. Better have a loose asshole, though.

I live about 20 mins from Riverside willing to commute ~1.5 hrs from orange county to LA to San Diego. Open to a lot of industries... just looking to get my foot in the door somewhere where I have to opportunity to grow and earn my stripes. Looking to start a career basically.

It's refreshing to see that you actually just want to get your foot in the door and you don't expect a plum job to fall into your lap because you "deserve it" like that asshole who started the other thread a few days back.

I'm pulling for you, my man. Something will come up.

Do catering gigs. Check out places like "party staff." If anything at least you'll meet plenty of sluts.

Go to events like Think LA or Digital LA if you want to get into media/marketing. A lot of people looking for jobs, but they do have some happy hours. http://www.thinkla.org/en/cev/mon/ (don't join, just go to the events, kind of a lot of $$$ for starting out) http://64.78.23.108/digitalla/ (dunno why they have their ip address as their domain) or follow them on twitter http://twitter.com/#!/digitalla a lot of these are kind of a waste of time, but it beats staying home and shooting off resumes. Just have a card made for yourself you can pass out with your name, email address and phone number. there are a ton of these events, a lot of them ARE unemployed people trying to suck up for work, but you can probably find some happy medium.
