I have two, one camel and one grey. Basically if I'm wearing brown shoes I wear the brown overcoat and if I'm wearing black shoes I wear the grey overcoat.

Two...mainly for travel to colder climes. One is camel; one midnight blue cashmere.

No rotation here, as I don't have any winter overcoats.

I have two, but a strong case can be argued in favor of four.

I have had only two since forever. Replacing one now, going from RTW to bespoke.

two and I will buy another this year. not so much that I need them, but the oldest is 22 years old, the other is 10 years old. they last forever, so one every 10 years or so isn't bad.

I probably have 7 or 8. Need to get rid of a couple I never wear.

I have several, but usually reach for the same two or three when one is needed.

I have 5.

I just love how an overcoat looks: they have such an intrinsic drama and flair to them that they add immense enjoyment to wearing a winter outfit. And since I don't much like the cold, something that adds fun to going out in the cold is a very welcome thing.

I was wearing a gray glen plaid with red overcheck (more subtle than it sounds) the other day and a guy told me I looked like Sherlock Holmes. I was kinda pleased with that.

Speaking of Holmes, Stephen Moffatt's modern incarnation has a nifty overcoat.

I have more overcoats than I need or can wear. Yet I still sometimes toy with getting one made up, to take the crazy to the next level.

It's a shame most modern overcoats are so boring.

^Vintage is certainly the way to go with outerwear. You can find such interesting, well-made things for such a bargain vs. new.

I rotate between a duffle coat, trenchcoat and overcoat depending on the weather.
I feel like you can wear a formal coat casually... as long it's not jetblack.
