good regular moisturizers (not face stuff)

Thread Starter
Winter is coming and I tend to dry out.

My routine is usually a post work run (my route is unavoidably windy) followed by a shower.
That could be to blame, but it gets painfully dry, as in it kinda stings to use regular moisterisers.

I read about these sesame oil products that sounded promising (just because I hate those big pump bottles of gloop).

Any suggestions? something just to keep me hydrated, I suppose I should use something on the face as well.

For morning and evening: First, Cleanse your skin with a GENTILE cleanser. Avoid products from Clean&Clear, Clearasil, and other brands that have harash ingredients. Try Spectro Jel, Cetephil or pHisdoerm.

For your face, I highly recommend the Twinluxe soothing face balm and moisturizer.

I have Rosacea and sensitive skin and this stuff works wonders. Just bought the bottle and am loving it!

Jergens Ultra Healing for the body.

Smells good (not flowery, fruity etc), and isn't greasy at all.

Most lotions are complete crap - they have alcohol in them that makes them evaporate hence it has the opposite effect - it may bring temporary moisture but then it dries out the skin. I buy 100% vitamin E oil from Whole Foods. Its takes a bit of work to rub it into the skin but its amazing. Also, you can use it on wounds, cuts, burns.. to will speed up healing time dramatically & will help to reduce scarring - waaaay better than Neosporin. I think it might be around $10 a bottle but will last a long time.

+1. Also...what about buying an aloe plant for your home and then opening the leaves to use the pure aloe vera without all the extra additives and crap. I do this in the summer if I get a sunburn and works wonders

I found the combination of exfoliating with Clinique face scrub and then using their M lotion to be highly effective. Origins makes a skin lotion called Precipitation that feels good and smells nice.

I would recomend a different route, just use one of those moisturizing body washes like from Aveeno or something. Only wash it off as much as is necessary, your skin should still feel a little "oily/soapy" but it's the moisturizer. avoid overly hot showers too...
