New Genuine Horn Shoehorns Made in UK - UPDATE 12/2 - Page 3

For those lucky ones who were able to purchase one, could you comment on the integrity of the horn material? I had always heard that the genuine bull horn was beautiful but that it often broke in two specially if you have tight-fitting shoes. Acetate seemed to emulate the horn but much stronger.

Who cares?

With the many that I purchased, if one broke I'll move onto another one.

They were ONLY $15 anyway

On my BB horn, I can see this potential (the grains are lengthwise and I could see it splitting). but this has not happened. Mine is vintage as well, older than 10 years.

^^^ More than 10 years is pretty good. I will be looking for a restock on these! Thank you.

Jeez, the guy isn't a store.

Boris, please move to England so you can begin making these to sell at the same price on an ongoing basis. Then put me down for two. Thanks!

The first day I got my new shoehorn I was so excited. I too was a bit concerned about breakage after the second hour of obsessive polishing led to extreme heat build up. However, my confidence was restored when, after cooling the horn slowly on a large sheepskin rug, I used the horn to slip on each pair of shoes, from loosest to tightest. I was amazed that the strength of the horn withheld even the most severe punishment of cramming my feet into my very first pair of shoes which had been, of course, bronzed. My only regret is that it is not a bit thinner, so that I could also use it as a sock horn for my most fitted stockings.

eBay for $1 plus shipping works for me. Just let us know when!

I will take 2 two to Vancouver, Canada. Fair price, thanks for the deal. Just post an eBay link when you set it up and bump your thread. We'll all be watching closely...

Please post the link to Ebay (or send me your paypal adress for payment if you change your mind about Ebay) as I want to purchase 2. Your price structure is very reasonable.

PM'd you in haste only to see the bottom of the thread... I'll keep my eyes peeled!
