This has to have been one of the best threads in the history of the entire clothing forum culture. I'll have to confess, a part of me was tempted to forsake my A-E loyalty and go for the legendary EG's at such a knockdown price. Something just made me suspicious, though, and I held back. So, to all you Greeniacs out there who took the bait...

BWA-HAHAHA!

So so true. I expect that they really don't yet know what happened. I suspect they just processed the orders and about Friday someone will wonder why 65 pairs of cheap shoes were sold in one day on the previous weekend. Than about Wednesday a week they will probably start wondering why 65 pr of shoes at retail are being returned.

Heck, unless we tell them they may never know what has happened.

Ah, that's too bad. Had you experienced EGs, I suspect you'd be less inclined to shill for AE.

They actually seem well aware of what happened. The emails they have been sending to apologize would attest of that

May I nevertheless request that everyone return their "Purple Label" shoes to the Rodeo Drive branch instead of the Mansion?

I will do so if they come in before I head for LA later this week.

I put it up there for a few minutes, but then realized it might give the wrong impression to any members who haven't read this thread. Then again, any member who hasn't read this thread...

it's an inside joke from last Xmas.....long story short, JoseP bought some shoes at the Mansion in NYC, tried to return them with sole wear to Rodeo, got the cold shoulder from salesman Todd when JoseP got into some dispute over the NYC salestax
post #403 of 481
So, I wonder if the AA folk are just laughing themselves silly?

On a side note, 99.9% of the American public would think the shoes sent out are pretty snazzy indeed.

LOL, jokes on us.

Did somebody say I could take these back to a Polo outlet for a refund??

Yeah, basically they refunded the wrong amount and Todd shouted at me to go back to New York until they realized they had in fact screwed up.

The Mansion really is a much nicer place to shop. I had the privilege of seeing the Purple Label looks on the mannequins there.
