Questions about BRACES (the kind that go on your teeth) - Page 2

I got my braces when I was in the 6th grade. I had horribly misaligned teeth. Had to wear them for two years, plus headgear (which I usually found in the floor the next morning). Any discomfort you feel will be worth the results. I had my wisdom teeth removed when I was 16, and my teeth shifted then. I still wear a retainer at night (I'm 34).

I actually had braces when I was younger but didn't wear the retainer and decided to get them again at age 26. I only wanted to close a simple gap but its turned into more.

My orthodontist didn't recommend Invisalign because he said he was having a lot of patients get 90% there but ultimately have to get traditional braces to finish the job. Those behind the teeth braces look interesting, but imagine they would make you talk funny.

At the end of the day, just get the tried and true regular braces. Get them ceramic so you don't have the metal mouth appearance. Just know that no matter what you get will be painful and take some time to get used to.

I'm just trying to figure out what the best option for my situation is

Do nothing. At most, that's a very minor cosmetic problem.
