I can see that with a light blue sold shirt and deep, burgundy red corduroys and dark brown suede shoes. It's not something I could pull off, but it has its place.

I meant for the tailor. Pattern-alignment would have been a better choice of words, admittedly. As for what to wear it with, I'd say solid light blue or ecru shirt, jeans or tan or grey trousers, deep brown solid knit tie. And lots of other things as well, of course. I don't think it's a particularly challenging coat to wear.

Gotcha. I can certainly see how that might be difficult.

Nobody does lightweight horseblankets like the Italians. The one in the Barbera post was recently done by Ormezzano. I though we had a piece left but I can't find it.

A few others from Loro Piana, E. Thomas, DiPray, Ormezzano, Reda and Delfino

Get it done with envelope patch hip out pockets for that trompe-l'œil half Norfolk look.

There would be no controversy. Everyone would hail you.

Jeffrey, curious to hear what you think about Italian cloth, and Loro Piana in particular. My English guy won't go near the stuff, and I've heard similar stories about other English tailors. They often have very interesting designs you don't find in English cloth.

Yes, a short-shit like me needs to keep that in mind.

Except for the fabric in the third pic - most of those looks like Nordstrom specials.

I think the reason most tailors don't like Italian cloth is that it is softer and harder to work with. But you're right, they make some beautiful designs. Suits used to have to last a whole lifetime. These days, marriages don't last that long- why should your clothes? So it depends on what you want- durability or luxury. I think my personal preference would be Italians for sport coats and English for suitings.

Don't get it done in a Norfolk, full, half, quarter or illusory. You'd end up looking more Basil Fawlty than Basil Rathbone. Pure costume. I'm interested in how whnay is going to style this beast of a tweed. Personally, I'd take inspiration from Huntsman. Single button, hacking pockets with a ticket and I'd be tempted to throw DB lapels on it just to fuck with people.

Most have many clothes, why not many wives?

Either 3 roll 2 3 patch or 2b flap plus ticket. Would do 3 patch myself.
