I'm sad that you couldn't find a real Russell plaid.

Yes, variations on the same theme. The one on the right looks like A&S.

intrigued by the flapped bellows in theory but maybe not in reality...

The one on the left doesn't fit the description that was given earlier of a Russel Plaid (i.e. there's no vertical stripey pattern - the bolder plaid check goes both vertical and horizontal)

Bill,

Hunter's of Brora, Russell check

Cheers

PS I hear the party in London was well attended.

It was, nearly 200 - 250 by my rough estimate. A lot of well turned folks.

BTW - great looking cloth.

Bill - Glad you had a chance to spend time with Ray. I ended up stopping by twice on my previous London visit as well! Just had a W. Bill herringbone shetland made up from Chan on my recent HK trip. During the fittings you could tell how sturdy yet comfortable it was. Fantastic stuff.

I would encourage you to send Ray pictures of your garment when its finished - he was really excited about the prospects of seeing the cloth "in action".

Thanks and duly noted. Will email him photos of that and the green with orange overcheck I had made up.
