I'm afraid the photos aren't very good. If anything, they show how big a difference you get in proportions from a slight change in camera angle. Also, the fabric is a good deal darker IRL. Anyway, there it is, comments and critique are welcome :)

Mid-Back too tight, around belly too loose, hence the overlapping quarters

Photos really are unforgiving, aren't they? Thanks for your comments guys, appreciate it.

Am curious if Kaplan expressed a preference for a higher buttoning point and less open quarters than usual from the previous NSM examples.

Seen a lot of Mina's work. Own a lot of Mina's work. This doesn't meet her standards. I am seriously shocked.

vinveritas, the opposite actually. I asked for a lower buttoning point than where she would normaly place it. I feel the photos doesn't really show this, but I think the buttoning point is fine IRL, about an inch above my navel and and inch below the slimmest point on my waist. I think it's at least two inches lower than where Mina initially wanted to place it. Obviously there are other issues, like the open fronts I asked for.

I think the back looks good, pants could be that you just need to give em a little hike. Only issue I see is the front right side, looks like it could use a tweak (a slight pull up) to fix the rippling you see under the armpit, and that may fix the quarters being off as well.

I think that you are right, it seems like she did not account for his lower shoulder, hence the folding. It is probably throwing off the balance and causing the fronts to close. I also think that the coat would look better if it was a bit longer.

It seems like the camera position has a lot to do with it. In the 1st pic, buttoning point and length both look fine. In the 2nd pic, with lower camera, buttoning point looks a bit high and coat looks a bit short. Since eye level is certainly closer to pic 1 than pic 2, I imagine it looks fine IRL

methinks that coat might have a short front balance

That was my only thought, too, but I wasn't sure how clearly you can tell from those pictures.

Can't say for certain that the front balance is short, but I can say for certain that that is what a short front balance looks like.

Could it be side balance as opposed to front?

Thanks for your thoughts and comments. Does most of what you see seem fixable? If anyone cares I might try to get some better photos for a more precise evaluation...
