Hard to tell from that email, but does it it seem like client clothing was destroyed as well? I'd imagine so, but I'd hope not frown.gif

I agree.

I was there a few days ago. For those of you who have already visited the space, it was the front rooms that received the water damage. The back room where some patterns and commissions are stored and Mina's office were unaffected. Luckily for all concerned, production was not impacted, so while this is certainly a royal pain to deal with at least it doesn't impact ongoing operations.

Glad to hear, could have been way worse it seems.

Has anyone had NSM make trousers w/ Daks Tops? I'd like to order a couple, but am curious if they're familiar with the style.

^ not sure about NSM, but a few other tailors advised against DAKS as the band tends to lose its elasticity over time and becomes less effective, especially if its dry cleaned.

Yup, SR tailors often do advise against Daks tops. However, when pressed, they admit that the problems with the elastic only crop up if one dry cleans the garment several times a year.

Given that this is cotton khaki, I'll probably machine wash anyway.

Steed is cutting a 3 piece suit for me with DAKS trousers. I'm keen on seeing how they turn out at the fitting. I once asked Mina for side button tabs for the pants but she said she wasn't able to do it. I didn't ask her specifically about DAKS.

DAKS trousers have side adjusters which are held by elastic. The elastic is hidden in a "tunnel" waistband.

But isn't it. compared to side tabs, less 'flexible' anyways? Just doesn't give you a lot of room to play with.

Yes, as you can only adjust from one buttoning point to the other, as opposed to adjusting in far smaller increments with side adjusters. However, if your weight barely fluctuates, then they both possess similar utility.

Personally I've never really had to adjust the waist of trousers during the day, but I guess some people do. I would look into the belt side tab thing from rubinacci if looking for an adjustable waist:
