my visit to Napoli & Mina @ Napoli Su Misura - Page 132

yep - have someone take picture from a good distance to reduce distortion, and at eye level.

looking good, kaplan. love the color whether it's accurate or not ;-)

Coat looks an inch too short in front and back

+1. The patch pocket line is sloping backwards and the quarters are closed.

There are some significant problems with that jacket. The front doesn't look right at all, and I think that camera angle isn't to blame. I think Vox's comments sum it up. I would take this back to them and see what they think.

Kaplan,

From my untrained eyes, other than the tightness/pulling in the back, the suit looks better than 99% of the suits I see in real life.

Thanks Parker. Hopefully the issues can be resolved. I like the lighter colour in the photos too, even though it's mostly a trick of the camera :-)

Hopefully these will be better to narrow down which areas need tweaking.

Many thanks to Butler for helping out with the pics.

I am not sure if it's the way you are standing, it does look like the front is slightly shorter than the back. The front needs to be open up which should Mina will be able to fix.

Why not transfer these photos over the tailors fit thread?

If your posture is more normal than in this photo:

- your hips move back, and your shoulders line up with your legs, which..,

- mitigates the bunching in at the back of your jacket and trousers, and...

- drops the front of the jacket, opening up the fronts.

If, however, this photo is your truly the way that you stand (shoulders behind the legs) then it almost looks like the suit hasn't been cut for you.

I doubt this, so my conjecture is that your are standing somewhat unnaturally in these photos.

The jacket, nevertheless, seems to be cut with fronts that are square. There is nothing wrong or right about this, it is only a matter of it matching what you want.

I'll post an NsM suit that I just got in the next few days so that we can compare.

Kaplan - I tried to look to see if you answered this, but couldn't find it - what's the fabric?

Kap-

Still looks a little sloppy under the right armpit, and I'm pretty sure that's not a posture issue. If this is fixed then I think the quarters would align perfectly. Please also take this with a grain of salt, if I weren't looking at this to pick at flaws I would say this suit is fantastic, but since this is the context (the NSM thread) I'll pick.

The back looks OK, but the sleeves, shoulders and trousers look inlove.gif

Good idea, but since the comments are already here I hope it's ok if I stay with it a little longer?

One thing I found out with today's round of shooting, is that I do lean back a lot when trying for a 'robo pose'. Butler pointed it out and I tried for a more relaxed posture in the pics you see here. In those earlier pics the crumbling in the lower back is much more pronounced (if I lean forward a lot and look down, I can make that go away. This also opens up the fronts a bit, but there's no way of standing normally erect that lets the fronts fall as open as requested).

Thanks for the kind words. I'm definitely here for the picks!
