This is a good example of why these threads are often off the rails before they start.

My waist is much much smaller then that but my thighs are 22 inches at the largest point. I'd consider pants with the waist/thigh measurement you gave painted on.

We're all different. People should stop reading and start trying things on.

I don't think I'll ever buy pants again with a leg opening exceeding 8" (maybe 8.5" in some exception). Who wants to cover/hide beautiful leather shoes purchased for many, many dollars? That's one of the reasons why Mabitex is great, there are many models to chose from with this small leg opening.

Why not tie the laces together, and hang them from your neck?

Wrong, it's not about being in shape, it's about body type. I am not particularly in shape-- 5' 8" w/ 34.5" waist-- but I have skinny legs. The Mabi's fit me great, they don't look particularly hipster, and certainly not "painted on". As for not hiding my "many, many dollar" shoes, um, I'll pass...

In 3000 words or less, describe the difference between low bodyfat and low muscle mass. Cite specific examples of both. For extra credit, analyze the difference between being in shape and having a slender build.

Once you’ve demonstrated a basic understanding of these concepts, you can continue to make sweeping generalizations.

Yes teacher.

Low bodyfat = not fat
Low muscle mass = not beefcake

Examples: The first me, the second you.

Extra credit: Are you offended that you can't wear slim? If you have bulging muscles from weightlifting, you can't wear Mabitex, and in fact you wont look very good in a suit, as things like shoulder pads are not for men with giant shoulders. Schwarzenegger in a suit = bad.

Italians are in shape; Americans are either fat slobs or muscleheads.

Once you've demonstrated a basic understanding of these concepts, you can continue to make sweeping generalizations.

What an exceedingly stupid post. I suppose I’m expected to get all defensive?

Mabis are definitely slim, but not as tight as people are making them out to be. If you get a 10 inch front rise, they shouldn't be nutsqueezers either. I have a butt and thighs that prohibit me from wearing any SW&D approved jeans (26 inches at the widest part of the thigh), but I can still wear mabitex if I size up one waist size, and have my tailor take it in.

This is good advice. I do the same when buying slim fitting pants.

Bullshit. I have two pair. One is painted the **** on. I was a tennis player and I have good sized thighs, but I am not huge by any stretch. The tight pair is comical. The only thing it they will look decent with a tight sweater. With a jacket, it is like I have sticks for legs. They remind me of these awful "skinny jeans" that women wear now, and that one in 20 looks decent in. I really regret having them altered...I should have just flipped them.

The other pair, while being nut huggers, have enough leg room to make them wearable with a SC.

Let's not get drawn into the debate of what measurements are the "gold standard" or what not. The point here is that people come in different shapes and sizes, Mabitex having received much love for their "slim-cut" might be due to many forumers being slimmer or smaller people. If the pant doesn't fit you as well as you wish, then obviously Maibtex is not meant for you. Move on and try another brand but don't make statements such as its measurements being ridiculous etc etc. Makes no sense and comes across as rather childish.

Everybody has a different shape and each brand has certain elements that make them unique. There are very few brands that I can buy that fit me perfectly. Trousers, especially, need to be tailored. If nothing other than getting hemmed. Most of the time, I will have the legs slimmed up a bit.

nope, not that I know of. But they're relatively cheap from the B&S and I've managed to sell back to the community a couple of pairs that didn't fit me for most of what I paid.
