Vintage Emporio Armani leather jacket

Hey,guys,I don't think this is very noob question,so decided it deserved a new thread.Throw your opinions on this jacket,that I won on ebay.I'm not questioning its authenticity,because it seems legit to me.

I would question though,it's leather.I bet its high quality,but I see it(maybe it's from the photos) as kind of off season or maybe off 10 seasons,because from what I've seen,the recent leather jackets are made of different type of leather.This one at least from the picture looks like a little bit "wooden".What's your opinion?Would appreciate it.Thanks

Oak was my initial guess but just look at the color and the grain, that's pine or I'm a balsa-tree.
