Product Review - Char-Broil CB940X Charcoal Grill

It only took my dad about 7 months to write the review of this grill, but it was well worth it. He's extremely pleased with the 940. So much so that he bought the baby 940, the CB5000, to be his travel grill. The full review is here. I grew up with a Char Broil grill in the garage. When I moved down to Texas I got a really good deal on a BBQ pit but a Char Broil BBQ Pit like the one pictured will be in my garage again one day.

I really miss the rotisserie attachment.

with the rotisserie on that thing, you can do like 5 chickens. The grill is huge...

these are built really well and a great investment in a grill that will last forever. However, I don't think they really compete with a good smoker for low and slow q.

I'm not much for uber low and slow. I don't think it's needed in most cases. I'll put up my brisket in 6 hours or pulled pork in 5 to anything done for 10 hours plus.

That being said, the thing is so air tight that it holds temps really well. Small pile of coals in the corner can remain constant at 200 for at least a couple of hours.

I agree on brisket though I do like the bark more on a low and slow. I think pulled pork is better low and slow. How about a 25 pound chuck roll? I get 10-12 hours on my wsm...
