Hi all,

Long time lurker, first time poster.

Has anyone seen the Wolverine 1000 Mile boots here in Melbourne? With their boots running slightly larger, I'd like to try a pair before ordering on the interwebs (on the back of our strong $).

Thanks very much.

Sorry, I can't help you with your question... I just have to say that I love the 1000 mile . So rugged, yet elegant. To me, they are the ultimate boot.

I don't recall ever seeing Wolverine boots in Aus. I have a pair of Wolverines (not the 1000 mile) that I bought in the USA over 10 years ago and they are one size up from my usual Aus/UK sizing.

You should be ok just going up one size, but I think you need to accept that return shipping may be needed for a first purchase of a mail order item that you don't have an exact size for. Unfortunately, its part of the cost living in Aus, but net/net, you will still be better off with mail order in the long run.

Wolverine does have a branch in Australia. I emailed them about some ascot boots a while back and I got a reply from the Wolverine branch in Australia. Victoria actually. They do have 1000 miles boots you'll be glad to know.

Fun(?) fact: Melbourne, Florida was named after Melbourne, Australia. They must be proud as punch.

Stateless: If you end up discovering a retail location location for Wolverine stuff (in the Australian version of Melbourne) let us all know?

Prime at 191 Little Collins Street had some of the new Originals (size 9 and above) when I was in there on Friday. They're trying to chase up an 8 for me, but their other store are also out of that size.

Thanks for the contact details, alexspecs. I'll give them a try this afternoon.

I just picked up a pair of 1000 original's in dark brown and they look great with jeans and khakis. Can't go wrong with these, they fit and look great. Also, in case you didn't know they run almost a size smaller than tts, so at the least go down 1/2 a size. To answer your other question, I almost bought a pair of addison's but the more I looked at it the more the double stitch on the wingtip in the profile shot didn't seem to look right. Just my 2 cents hope it helps.....
