By fake, do you mean a sunless tan? Perhaps they are just as prevalent in your area, but folks have gotten more skillful at applying them.

There are clothing and styling trends that offend, especially when widely adopted. Because someone wears clothing I don't particularly like, does not make them any less likeable to me.
