I'm going to assume that the dedicated salesperson would need to pull $30k to survive. Roy raised prices via SelfEdge to $275 - but is selling the contest jeans for ~$200, so we can assume that's the price point he's realized that he needs to sell at to stay in business. Now, since we don't want hypothetical Solo Roy "jacking up" prices like SelfEdge, so we'll let him go to $220 to cover the overhead of this salesperson.
That means that he only has to sell 1500 pair of jeans per year (at $20 extra per) to afford his dedicated sales team, while making exactly the same amount of money he makes wholesaling to SelfEdge. All in the fantasy world where direct retail doesn't carry any other burdens.
Sounds like an A+ business plan, dude!
