SUPER-TALL guy needs to start dressing his age!

So I recently turned thirty years old, and decided it's time to give up the jeans-tshirt-hoodie formula I've been following since highschool. I'm looking for a few key pieces to slowly steer my wardrobe towards business-casual, but there's one (extreme) catch.......I'm 7'1ft tall and quite thin.

I definitely don't have the money for a closet full of bespoke outfits, and am hoping some of the taller members of Style Forum could point me in the right direction as far as which designers to look at. I realize I'm most likely the tallest person on here, but any help is appreciated.

As for the items I'm interested in....a peacoat, a few slim-fitting dress shirts, some slacks, and some dark blue or black denim. Anything beyond that is gravy. Thanks in advance.

I played basketball in university. I've moved on. And my inseam is 38....but it feels a bit short and I've never seen anything longer.

www.rochesterclothing.com > these guys really have some nice pieces if you're very tall and not rake-thin. The Ralph Lauren pieces are especially nice, though expensive. Beyond that... Bespoke. If you expect to get ANYTHING off the rack at 7'1" outside of a few speciality joints, you're kidding yourself. You need a good tailor. Geez, at 6'7" I thought I had a lot of trouble! I feel for you.

Yeah my brother is like a rail and 6'5, even he has trouble, ends up swimming in a lot of shirts. 7'1 must be rough. Off the rack I'm not even sure what you could get.

Thanks man! That site seems like a great place to start. I had a quick look around and found quite a few pieces I like a lot! I think I'll email them to inquire about sizing.

There's no way I could afford more than one or two articles of bespoke clothing, unfortunately.

what are the measurements of things that fit you well now? What kind if t-shirts do you wear, where do you buy them?

give us your measurements other than inseam!

Well, like I said, I've been relying for the past 10-12 years on off-the-rack hoodies and tshirts. I usually try on anywhere from XL to XXXL stuff, and if it's long enough I buy it. So I end up with some clothes that fits me like a tent, and some that's not too bad. Foot Locker tall size tshirts work well, size LT (Large-Tall).

So, as you can imagine, I don't really know what my measurements (beyond waist and inseam) are. None of my clothes fit perfectly, so measuring them wouldn't accomplish too much I guess.

Try one of those MTM shirt forum affiliates. I've had good luck with Cottonworks.
