I thought Jkissi's WAYWT looked good, but it might be hard to pull of if you're not Jkissi.

Also, if you're dead-set on going with this, I recommend pants with a mid to high rise. It usually looks kind of odd having a massive gap between the bottom of your vest and your waistline.

How about vests that don't look like they're an orphan from a 3-piece suit?

I bought this one from MofM last Spring that I like pretty well....

I've always felt that Ann D has the casual vest locked down, though her aesthetic isn't exactly "casual" per say.

Odd vests without a suit will always look retarded. You can try a sweater vest or a sweater vest cardigan. Make sure the texture is playful/interesting.

No, I think you're just an idiot.

I've always wanted a tweed vest to wear with knit ties and stuff. The rough texture just screams late fall. I just don't want to end up looking like...

I don't understand the phobia toward "affectedness".

And can we stop pairing everything with jeans for just one second? A good vest would look good with some wool trousers, keep your silhouette sharp and clean. Wearing a vest and shirt and tie and then putting on pants in the same cut and fabric 99% of the population is wearing isn't being "edgy" or "nonchalant", it's usually just dumb. JKissi gets a pass because he's very tall and very good looking and has a really good eye for shapes and textures and colors.

whats the general opinion on down vests that are made of wool similar to the ones posted above that don't look orphaned.

They look like they might work against a knit underneath.

I think this works better on meatier people with thick shoulders.

I think it never works and your just playin into the GQ semi-pro tastemaster approach to style

There's really no way of pulling off an odd vest without looking douchy.
