Club Monaco's shorts fit me extremely well in the legs but not in the waist! Why? Because they make a size 28 and a size 30, but no size 29.

The funny thing is that CM have recently started to make size 29 in some of their chinos. So far, no 29 in their shorts. A phone call and email to CM's customer service indicates that they have no plans for size 29 for SS14.

Anyone else have this problem?
Buy the bigger size and get the waist taken in.

What a downer. Went in before work around 4pm to check out the sample sale. Literally packed with 80% Asians (incl myself) haha.

Both guys and girls sections were either heavily picked out or didn't have too much quality pieces to begin with. Felt like i was sifting through a flea market selections. Limited sizes, most were in Medium or bigger. Not really a good deal either (50 or 60+ for pants I think, and $120 for outerwear).

You're right. Doesn't sound like a great deal at those price points. I've heard past sales were good.

Reviews from choosy beggar are the same:http://www.thechoosybeggar.com/2014/03/club-monaco-sample-sale-6/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheChoosyBeggar+%28The+Choosy+Beggar%29

I did a search but didnt come up with results.

Do the chinos shrink after the first machine wash and dryer trip? Talking specifically about the Davis Chinos (reg. weight), but any of the cotton trousers would apply I assume.

Thanks

I always hang dry most of my clothes unfortunately.

They may shrink a little bit, but nothing noticeable tho.

Can someone with the cashmere waffle pants comment on their sizing and quality? Fit pics would be very much appreciated!

Good news everybody!

I've never owned, seen or handled CM before but having eyeing some things for a few seasons and never pulled the trigger. I was hoping somebody hear could help me out with the fit of the "slim fit" shirtings.

The sizing chart online isn't very specific and doesn't make mention of a difference between the regular and slim fit shirts. I guess the easiest comparison for me would be how CM fit compared to J Crew.

A large J Crew shirt fits me pretty well except it's tight in the chest/back and the shoulders are a little small, but length and waist is pretty good. An XL in J Crew fits better in the chest/back but shoulders are too big and the rest is too baggy. Would a "slim fit" in the XL from CM be my best bet here? fwiw the L's I have from J Crew are 21" pit to pit, which I assume comes out to a 42" chest, so ideally I'd be looking for a 21.5"/43" chest and the CM size chart says that would the upper limit of the L (41-43" chest) but I'm assuming the "slim fit" ones are a little snugger than that.

Any help would be appreciated. If it makes a difference at all I'm looking at the chambray dot shirt in particular but also a couple of others (mostly oxfords).

I'm 6'3 190 and i have quite a few J Crew slim fit shirts and Club Monaco slim fit shirts both in a Large. I found the club Monaco shirts to be a slimmer fit overall especially in the torso area. I found j crew shirts to be quite billowy in that area.

Thanks. Sounds like I'd need an XL then and would just have to get it tailored.

Wearing the Kennedy right now and it's just a straight cut. I prefer the Davis no question, it's slim fit without being too slim. The Connor is EMO tight

I may have to just go to the store.... I would not have guessed that at all. From the pix the Kennedy definitely appears to be the slimmer of the two, but you say it's just the opposite. OK.. thank you!

I have a pair in the Davis fit, but I would prefer them to be more tapered. The Connor fit looks a bit too slim, though I wouldn't go as far as to call them "emo".
