Club Monaco: Adventures in decent clothing and horrible marketing - Page 110

It may have been acryclic...

I can get the shirt at a 20% discount, but it's still steep at 100$.

I'm not so concerned with durability in the sense of whether the shirt will literally fall apart or not. I just worry about buying a 100$ shirt that, when put through the wash a few times, looks like crap because of the synthetic materials. This is an area I know almost nothing about, and don't think I own any shirts that aren't 100% cotton.

Yes it is trendy right and has been for the last few years.

Can anyone comment on how the 5-pocket cords fit, particularly waist-to-thigh ratio?

Epaulet Rivet Chinos work great for me. Most J. Crew cuts are so vanity sized in the waist that if I size down there enough, the thighs are too tight.

Anyone with opinions on the Wool Bomber? www.clubmonaco.com/product/index.jsp?productId=23423376. It just went on sale.

I walked into the CM in Philly and they removed all of the men's clothing. It's all womens! WTF? The saleslady said that they might be opening a separate men's store in Philly but that won't be for a while.

Where is the closes men's store? NYC?

you can't stack anymore. There used to be a time when promos like the 30% off one running now was automatically deducted (instead of coupon code) where you could stack the student discount when checking out.

CM fans, what are your thoughts on the green quilted navy jacket and the zip-up hoodie?

The jacket is less than $100 at its sale price and my be a value purchase, but the teal zip-up hoodie is still priced at around $70 even with the current sale.

Both are nice. I have a hoodie from CM and it is one of my favorite hoodies. Super soft and warm. Not sure about the quality of the jacket.

I prefer my Barbour Chelsea or even a Liddesdale to the Club Monaco one. I like the RL quilted jacket more than this one too. I don't like the collar on this one and there is no zipper from what I can see on the quilted jacket.

The hoody you linked is not a zip up.

Color is good and somewhat neutral, i.e., can be worn with brown, black, and navy. I personally prefer zip up also as it allows you to regulate temperature better. Can't comment on quality as I don't have any Club Monaco hoodies. I do have a standard grey sweatshirt from them that I like though.
