Forum-bans are going to be happening - Page 6

I can't believe there are actually people here who are discussing this decision... Mods do the work, they lay down the rules - follow them or get lost. It's not as if they're being unreasonable innit!..

Bring down the ban hammer, and thanks for all the hard work, mods!.. SF has been a tremendous help in buying and selling items, and even in discovering new brands and such.

seriously. I never thought the sw&d side was all that terrible before but then again the site has grown a lot in the past year or so. But yea, i don't know why people are so concerned with weird loopholes and stuff. Obviously LAguy is smart enough to see people trying to exploit the rules. Leaving it to judgement is better than making things more difficult/annoying for normal users by adding even stricter rules. I'm surprised a 3rd part hasn't made some kind of selling system and sold it to various forums. Forums for every hobby from the tons of clothing boards, computer forums, camera, car parts, cooking, etc... would benefit from soemthing. I mean, we can put a man on the moon but can't come up with a working system that doesn't require $50k+ and a guy working full time to maintain it? What a world we live in

We are actually thinking about this. It's not that simple, actually. I mean, look how the Yoox system has changed, and I can tell you that that took a loooooooot of money. There are tons of things that "should" exist, but don't.

This. Very not cool. You are supposed to keep B&S confined to B&S, much less post it in an affiliate thread.

agreed this is uncalled for and should be disciplined.

i mean if he saw someone requesting an item, i'm sure it doesn't hurt to drop a quick PM, but anything more is not cool.

i meant that sellers would just sell one item at a time, as many do now.

If it becomes a problem alert LA Guy or someone else. Like he said, this isn't some weird beurocratic thing where you can hide behind a loophole because they didn't explicitly hammer out every detail. If the spirit of the rules are being violated and the person is deliberately trying to skirt the rules it is easy for LA Guy or another mod to spot it and stomp it out. Of course there are normal situations where a person decides later to sell another item while another is still being sold but it's pretty easy to tell the difference between that and just abusing the rule.

What's the general policy on multiple threads vs one big thread for items for sale? One of the reasons I like listing items in separate threads is so that I can reduce prices/bump things appropriately. The downside is that I end up cluttering up the forum with extra threads.
