I just want so say that renteria played very well. I have really respected his play over the last 15 years; he is one of the good ones. First ballot hof in my eyes.

You're out of your mind

As a Dodgers fan, it kills me that the Giants finally won a World Series after all these years. But, at least, I can take some comfort that the Giants won it in a year where baseball was completely overshadowed by the NBA with the debut of Lebron in a Heat uniform and the NFL, with all the sturm und drang swirling around Brett Favre.

I understand - you're grasping at straws to make yourself feel better.

Man, that was a helluva game. Giants deserved to take the series no doubt. We got outplayed, but I'm still a proud Rangers fan. i only wish there was more baseball to watch. that was the best series of baseball i can remember in a loooooooooong time

Funny, I have lived with this rivalry since near birth and it always struck me that we cared about LA way more than LA cared about us. It's a very Giant reaction to want LA to lose out of spite but LA could never be bothered to even notice us.

I don't think that's unique to SF. LA generally doesn't seem to take notice of any other teams with which they have a rivalry (in any sport, professional or college).

A little excess enthusiasm can probably be forgiven in a time like this, to wit:

Doc Ellis pitching a no-hitter while high on acid might have something to say about this.

Uh...tap the brakes a bit there. Renteria is a solid player, but you need a bit better than a .287 and 11 HR/ season to be considered a FBHOFer.

Fact is that the real magic of the Giants this year is that if you go down the lineup there really aren't any perenneal All-Star/HOF-type players in the while list. Amazing. I can't really remember anything like it.

Congrats to them.

+1. Would like the Rangers to have put up a bit more fight, but I give credit to some pretty amazing pitching by San Fran.

You are such a piece of shit that I can't even start to properly formulate a proper insult.

Dodgers: Disappointing overpaying fans since 1958

USC-Notre Dame is real.

USC and UCLA could give a shit about Cal and Stanford though. May as well not exist.
