Nokia 1200 FTW. Best phone ever made. As long as all you need from it is telephony. And Snake. And a killer fucking tractor beam flashlight.

Smartphone wise, the Windows Phone 7 Samsung Focus is light and thin and looks to be the best W7P out there for normal users.

The current iPhone isn't that thick either but it's glass, fragile and you need to case it for proper reception, increasing bulk. The Samsung, like any piece of Japanese or Korean tech, most likely doesn't need silly pampering to 'just work'.
