My sno seal is coming in today, when I apply it, and for that matter all boot oils and stuff, should I keep the shoe tree in them? Should i let them dry with trees in them?

Either way doesn't matter at all. Just don't tree 'em unless they are completely dry (water).

Not really a fan of the 744's captoe.

I don't need anything fancy, a cordovan (#8 or cigar) version of the plain toe 1000 mile boot will look awesome...

Here are some in the cordovan color you asked about

I saw that on eBay as well. It is listed as "cordovan #8", but judging form the pics (and price) the leather looks nothing like shell cordovan. I don't think 1000 mile boots (beside 721) is available in burgundy color (yet). My brown 1000 mile boot also looks a little bit red/purple under the sun, and I'm wondering if that pair of boot in photo is just the brown 1000 mile boots.

Got over my apprehensions and Sno-Sealed my 721's the other night in preparation for rainy season:

Just baking up my shoes on a Friday night... normal.

All due respect to the Mac Method... but I'll take the Crane Method any day.

I can't imagine doing this to any of my cordovan boots.

Didn't that kind of dull the luster of the Cordovan?

It appears that way in the image as there's still some residual surface SnoSeal.

I wiped it down and brushed it and the luster is back. I'll have to get some after shots.

Truth be told, the 721's never had must shine to them; definitely nowhere near Alden-level.

As they're ostensibly an Allen Edmonds boot, the more matte finish is in line with my AE shell.

I've used Kiwi to bring the shine up on my Leeds. Might have a go at the 721's... hmm...

Thanks, good to know.

I would really like to see some before and after pictures if possible.

Very nice.

I'm a big fan of the Burgundy (Cordovan) color.
