How much of TF's allegedly genius design talent went into 'designing' a polo which as the bloke above said was perfected before he drew his first breath. It's made of cotton, a non exclusive fabric even in it's most richest form. No matter how much you might admire or revere him, you'll have a hard justifying to a thousandaire like me that any polo shirt is worth anywhere near that kind of dosh.

Judging another person by what they paid for their clothes makes you a snob.

Just sayin'.

The problem with this statement is that the 548 polo I was compared it to actually looked and fit better. I'm not comparing to all Tom Ford product but this polo in particular.

I think this is a bit far of a comparison. You can't go walk by a number of stores and see racks of Matisse hanging up, ready for sale.

Despite his talent, he's making his main money on a mass-produced product. The "lifestyle brand" arguments make the most sense to me.

Read my post again. Tom Ford is for the discerning customer. If you think your cheaper polo looked and fit better, then maybe you aren't really a Tom Ford kind of guy, which is o.k. Tom Ford isn't for everyone, which is part of why it is so exclusive and high-fashion. How many magazines do layouts showing your polo? How many stars where your polo and how many wear Tom Ford's? See what I am saying?

^^ look forward to it, but isnt it supposed to Zegna to its Couture specification construction wise

It's made by the Zegna couture factory, but not to the exact same specs. In some respects it is better, and in others not so much. I'll be posting tomorrow.

Excellent, and I am looking forward to your next post.

I wonder how many layers of canvas he has in the front panel. I'm thinking maybe 4. Minimum.
